Description
One of the more picturesque settings in the state of Ohio would have to be the Clifton Mill in Clifton, Ohio. I stopped by one afternoon a few years ago on a return trip from Indianapolis. The mill is one of the most difficult places to photograph for a few reasons, one of which is the covered bridge from which you have to shoot from. If the bridge isn't closed, you have to deal with the windows which have wooden louvers attached to them, making the use of a tripod next to impossible. To make things even more difficult (impossible would be a better word), most of the time the windows have some sort of chicken wire attached to them as well. As it turns out, I was incredibly fortunate when I stopped there....the bridge was open and there was no wire over the windows. I couldn't use my tripod, so I wedged the camera lens through the louvers and manually held a grad ND filter over the lens to even out the exposure, all while trying my best to hold the camera completely still for a long exposure.
