Artist's Description

I left Ohio a few weeks back in anticipation of a 3 day stay in Acadia National Park in Maine. I spent my first night in Vermont, then got up bright and early for the day long, leisurely trip up the coast of Maine. Before heading to the hotel, I stopped at Bass Harbor Headlight in Acadia National Park just in the nick of time to catch this glorious sunset. I was thrilled to say the least, because getting this shot was my main reason for my trip up there in the first place. Now that I had it in my pocket, the rest of the trip was gravy, so to speak. Little did I know at the time, the park was only a few hours away from shutting off all entrances to Acadia due to the government shut down. I made the best of the rest of my stay, but this stop on my way to the hotel, literally saved my trip to Maine.
