Description
A while back, I posted on a previous photo that I won't miss a sunset while on vacation, even if there is "not a cloud in the sky" or "Nacits". The same usually holds true for sunrises as well, but on this particular morning I almost missed it. I was vacationing down in Acadia National Park in Maine and stayed up late the previous night watching my beloved Indians take it on the chin in their one and only playoff game. After I rose the next morning dreary eyed to go catch my sunrise, I walked outside in the parking lot, looked up in the sky and saw nothing but stars. I turned back to my room and headed back for bed but for some reason I had this feeling I should not miss this sunrise. After all, I did spend most of the previous afternoon scouting out a good spot to catch it, since my go to spot, Cadillac Mt. was barricaded off. I got dressed and made my way to Schooner Head, which was also barricaded off, but there was only a short walk past the barricades to the place I wanted to shoot. I set up and waited for a while and wouldn't you know, just before sunrise, a nice set of clouds flew overhead and put on a brilliant display of light and color.
